My Story
Let me take you on my Scentsy Journey:
Hi friends ! I’m Jacquelyn Chatterton, otherwise known as ChattyJax! You’ll find out soon why 😉 I am a wife and fur mama.
I was born and raised in Upstate NY - where I currently live with my husband, Chris and our cat, Sheldon!
Here are a couple random facts about me:
I was in marching band all throughout middle school and high school.
I was a preemie and a NICU baby
I AM AN ADVOCATE FOR MENTAL HEALTH
I have worked in the healthcare field since I was 20 years old
For years I randomly would order from friends who were consultants but never thought I’d be any good at it. I love to talk but I had no idea how to do direct sales. What I did know? My Dad was in sales my entire life. He always taught me, the worst someone could say to you is “no” but what if they say yes!! And that you can do anything you set your mind to.
I was always obsessed with everything home fragrance. You should have seen the insane amount of candles we used to own! Now I only have one in case of a power outage! I love how one scent can bring you back to a specific time, place and memory.
This company has truly changed the trajectory of my entire life.
I did pretty well my first year and a long came my second when I found out there could be a possibility for me to earn a trip to Walt Disney World a place I’ve always dreamed of going. Well, I shared my business, hosted parties, and told everyone and anyone about Scentsy!
I earned that trip to Disney World and went solo. I made more friends that will be with me for a lifetime on that trip and experienced more behind-the-scenes magic of Disney then I could’ve ever imagined.
The following year in November, my dad was diagnosed with stage four small cell lung cancer. My world was rocked and immediately thought I need to quit. Little did I know this Business would keep me grounded throughout the next two years of my life to follow. I got engaged and married within six months of Dad‘s diagnosis.
2023 everything changed. I started the year off by earning an all expenses paid trip and I brought my dad along with me as my guest. We went on the world’s largest cruise ship at the time, Wonder of the Seas, here we met a large group of consultants, all who fell in love with my dad and we became instant best friends. Daddy even won the world sexiest man competition - talk about a trip of a lifetime.
September 2023, Daddy received an LVAD to try to help his failing heart. For the two months that dad was in the hospital I worked my business on a daily basis whether it would be in his ICU room with a warmer and wax or labeling catalogs in the waiting room. This was the distraction I needed. It brought so many people closer to my dad, including complete strangers.
After the heartbreaking loss of my dad in November 2023, just seven months after our trip, the entire Scentsy community surrounded me with love, laughter and all the happy memories.
The moral to my story is: NEVER GIVE UP! You can always set it to the side but never forget it’s there. Scentsy is there for you through it ALL! There are people cheering you on even if you don’t see it.
I will forever and ever be grateful to Scentsy, the staff and all of the family I’ve met along the way and will continue to meet. 💜
